Website measurement & customer reports

Updated 22 October 2026. Pizza Chalet, 118 High Street, Wealdstone, HA3 7AL.

Website statistics

We use visit totals and recognised-browser counts for visits, basket use, checkout starts and verified payments solely to improve this website and ordering experience. Website statistics start on unless you previously refused measurement. The “Turn off” button in the website footer beside Privacy switches off website statistics and Google Analytics together. “Turn on” in the footer re-enables only website statistics. You can also manage measurement in “Privacy choices”, and order as normal with either setting off. These statistics are separate from Google Analytics and email offers.

A random visit reference is held in your browser tab. A visit ends after 30 minutes without a measured interaction, or 24 hours. While website statistics are on, a separate random browser reference is shared by tabs in this browser for a fixed 30 days, without extending its expiry on return visits. A just-expired reference may be kept for a further 24 hours solely to withdraw pending checkout links across tabs; it is not used for new recognition. This lets us count a recognised browser once across several visits and days. It does not identify a person: different browsers or devices, cleared storage and reference expiry can count again. Browsers that cannot safely share this reference are excluded from unique counts. We do not use contact details, IP addresses or fingerprinting to recognise browsers, or send these references to Google.

We store hashed browser and visit references, visit-start times and whether the visit reached basket and checkout. An optional link to the saved order lets the server verify payment; multiple orders by the same recognised browser count once in the selected range. The report groups by UK visit-start dates, and a later payment remains attributed to its visit. These records and order links are retained for up to 397 days. No pages, products, sources, campaign tags or advertising identifiers are recorded by this first-party unique measurement. Only aggregate counts are shown in Analytics reports and downloads.

Existing daily visit totals remain separate. Their independently hashed deduplication keys expire within three days and temporary payment links within 24 hours. Those totals cannot establish historical unique browsers. Unique reports begin with the first full UK day after recognised-browser measurement starts; earlier ranges are unavailable. We do not reconstruct identity from older totals.

Turning website statistics off stops collection and requests deletion of unique records and order links for the current browser reference, including pending payments across tabs. A hashed refusal reference prevents delayed requests recreating them. Operational orders, payments and receipts are not deleted. Earlier references cannot be recovered after expiry or cleared storage, and individual contributions cannot be removed from the old combined daily totals. Your on/off choice remains until you change it or clear storage. A failed withdrawal can be retried from the footer. Cloudflare processes this information to operate the website; it is not sent to advertising services.

Earlier optional website reports

Earlier optional first-party visit reports used a random browser identifier lasting 30 days after opt-in. Those historical records contain referral/campaign labels and visit stages, with an optional order link, and are kept for up to 13 months. No IP addresses, full referral URLs or device fingerprints were recorded in those reports. Using “Turn off” under Google Analytics also requests removal of historical visit records associated with the earlier browser identifier still available on this device. It does not delete your orders. Earlier identifiers cannot be recovered after they expire or are cleared.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics starts on unless you previously turned measurement off. You can turn it off at any time in the website footer or “Privacy choices”. We use Google Analytics 4 to measure page views, sessions, product views, basket additions, checkout and verified paid purchases. Google receives browser/device information, campaign tags, Google advertising click identifiers when present in the page URL, product names, quantities, prices, order value, an order reference and whether you chose Delivery or Collection. We do not send your name, email, phone number, address, payment details or order notes to Google Analytics.

The Google tag loads automatically on public customer pages while measurement is on. Previous Google Analytics or website-statistics refusals are honoured. You can explicitly turn Google Analytics back on in “Privacy choices”. A saved refusal remains off until you change it or clear browser storage. Google analytics cookies are configured to last up to 90 days. Advertising storage, advertising user data, personalisation and Google signals remain disabled. We do not create separate advertising cookies or save advertising click identifiers in your basket or order. Google may process information outside the UK; see Google’s privacy policy. Google Analytics retention is managed separately in our Google account.

Turning Google Analytics off in “Privacy choices”, or using the footer “Turn off” button, stops future Google Analytics tracking on this browser and removes its Google analytics cookies. It does not automatically delete data already received by Google. Contact Pizza Chalet about deletion requests. Purchases blocked by privacy settings or without a return to the receipt page may not appear in Google Analytics; operational order records remain separate.

Home Screen app

You can add Pizza Chalet to your Home Screen. An internet connection is required to load the current menu and order. We remember a dismissed installation invitation on this device for 30 days. Installing the app does not sign you up to marketing or notifications.

While Google Analytics is on, we also measure installation invitations, installation actions where the browser reports them, and use in a browser or Home Screen app. An installation action is not always proof of a completed installation. We remember the first measured Home Screen app use on this device for 90 days to avoid counting each reopening as a new installation; clearing storage or changing browsers can make this appear again. We keep the order reference and whether checkout started in the browser or app on this device for up to 24 hours for analytics matching, then discard it on the next access. This is removed if you turn measurement off. Different browsers or separate app storage may prevent matching.

Optional customer accounts

Clerk provides email-code sign-in. It processes your email address and technical information needed to authenticate you and protect accounts. Sign-in cookies are necessary for this feature. Clerk uses a secure HttpOnly client cookie and a short-lived session token; Pizza Chalet verifies your session on the server. See Clerk’s privacy policy.

We keep a separate customer identifier, your verified email, the details you choose to save and links to paid orders you explicitly save. Saving an order requires its original receipt in this browser and a verified matching email. We do not automatically add earlier guest orders. You can save one address, edit or clear it, and log out of this device or all devices. Editing saved details does not change submitted orders.

Accounts are optional and do not subscribe you to marketing. Guest checkout remains available. Card details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored in your customer account.

Order and account reports

Order records are needed to fulfil orders, handle refunds and maintain business records. The owner can see sales totals, products sold and spending by verified accounts that explicitly saved their orders. We use these reports to understand our business and improve service. We do not merge guest orders into accounts using names, addresses, phone numbers or email matches.

Account-spend rankings show account names and totals, not full addresses. Delivery addresses remain in restricted order-management records for fulfilment and customer service. Staff do not have access to aggregate owner reports.

Your choices and questions

Contact the shop at the address above about access, correction, deletion or objections to use of your personal data. Some transaction records may need to be retained. You can also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

This notice describes the current measurement and reporting features. Public ordering is available without creating an account. Customer sign-in and saving orders are optional.
